It's 1:45 am. I can't sleep. And it's not because of a baby.
Last night I woke up with Ethan at 3:30 am and I could not fall back asleep. That was it, I was awake for the day. I managed to have a 1 hour nap in the afternoon. You would think after a night like that, I would be able to sleep through anything, but no, I've been laying in bed for the past 4 hours and I just can't fall asleep. Maybe I am broken.

Camera update
Our camera is definately broken. Jeff couldn't fix it. We had decided we were going to buy ourselves a new camera, but we didn't want to spend a whole lot on one right now. So the plan was to buy a cheaper camera for now and then once we had some money saved up we would buy the nicer, more expensive camera.
On Saturday we were shopping and stopped to look at some cameras. We found one on sale. I'm thinking it was a clearance item. Jeff has used this model of camera before and thought it would be a good one for us. This morning, I packed up my 3 boys and headed off to the store to buy this camera. And what do you know, the only one they had left was the display model and they wouldn't be getting any more in. They said they could sell me the display model. I said I'd think about it and went on my way. I don't want a display model, at least not for a camera. Who knows how often it's been bumped, mishandled or dropped. So, I took my boys and went back home. (it wasn't a complete waste of a trip, I bought some milk)
When I got home I started looking on-line again for other cameras. I couldn't find any great deals on the cheaper cameras, but I did find the one I really wanted and it was on sale!!!! It was marked down by $50 and they had an additional 10% off for 2 days only. I quickly called Jeff and told him about the sale, and we decided that we would take the plunge and just buy it now. My new camera should arrive by May 7th!

It's broken!
Not that there is any good time for this to happen, but my camera is broken! Jeff tried to fix it the other day, and we thought it was working. I took one picture last night, and then I tried to zoom in, and it stopped working again. We were planning on saving up some money and buying ourselves a new, much nicer one for Christmas. I can't wait until Christmas! Jeff is going to try and fix it again but if that doesn't work I'll either have to buy myself a cheaper one or go without for the next 8 months!

There are just some things I don't need to tell my 4 year old!
Jamin: How did you get the baby out?
Me: I went to the doctor and he got the baby out.
Jamin: How did the doctor get the baby out?
Me: Ummm. I don't know.
Jamin: Did you forget?
Me: Uh, yes.
He seemed satisfied with my answer, until I heard him asking his dad yesterday. Apparently, dad will tell him when he gets bigger!

Day 1
Today is the first day that Jeff is back at work since we brought Ethan home, with the exception of 1 day he had to work last week. But it's the first day of back to work full time. I've been dreading this day, the day when I'm really put to the test. And how is it going so far? Let's just say I'm out of bed, that's a start. My night started out not too bad last night, but then 4:00am came along and a little baby did not want to go back to sleep. The thing with babies is they need diaper changes, a lot of them. So I start feeding Ethan, then we take a break so I can go change him. I usually wait a while before changing him because, as moms will understand, when you change them too soon you find you have to change them again. I changed him too soon, twice! And by that time he was wide awake. So, somewhere around 6:00am I think I fell asleep again, only to be awoken at 7:00am by Aaron. (he used to sleep until 8:00 or 8:30, not anymore)
Since then we've only had a few episodes of fighting and spills and bonked heads! I hope the rest of the day goes smoothly. Only 9 hours and 20 minutes until daddy gets home!

Life is good
The past 8 days have been exhausting. Or maybe I should say the past 8 nights have been exhausting. Life with a newborn is definately not easy, but everytime I hold that sweet little boy of mine, I know it is so worth it all. I have been given such a gift, 3 healthy, happy boys. Aaron absolutely loves his little brother. He's always giving him kisses and climbing up to see him, whether he's in my lap or in his crib. Jamin pretty much does his own thing, but when asked if someone else can take Ethan home, his reply is always no. So at least I know he doesn't want to give him back! I am very thankful for my family. And even though we will have some (probably many) difficult days I know how blessed I am and that life is good.

I am so happy to introduce to everyone our new baby boy, Ethan Joshua! He was born April 8, 2009 in the afternoon and weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. We are so blessed to have this new addition to our family. I am so thankful for him and love him more than words can say!
