I'm lookin at you!

A really dirty Aaron

My boys

I missed writing about Fathers Day. But this photo was taken at the end of Fathers Day. In the photo is my husband Jeff, and my two sons Jamin and Aaron. Let me just say first of all that they love their dad. And he's a great dad. They get so excited when he comes in the door after a long day at work. They play wrestle with him and watch cartoons with him and basically make a lot of noise together. I just know that one day, when the boys are older, I'll have a lot of time by myself because they'll all be gone playing hockey, paintball or building forts outside. I'm so thankful for my family and for the love they have for each other. So thank you Jeff, for the time you spend with our boys, raising and teaching them. We are all blessed to have you in our lives.

No, they're not all mine either

Nothing

Since it would seem that I do not update this enough, I thought I'd tell you that not much happened today. I woke up sometime after 7am, I got my haircut, and now, supper is in the oven. And it's not a very exciting supper, just a bunch of stuff I threw together. So now, I've updated.

My Garden

This year is the year that I decided to plant a garden. I wasn't going to at first, but then my father-in-law came over with his tiller and got it all ready for me. So, on an impulse, I planted a garden. I definately do not have a green thumb. Ask my husband, he'll tell you that I cannot keep a plant alive. Although, in my defense, my living room plant is still alive. It's even been a few months!

Back to the garden. I've been trying to keep up with the weeds, but with the rain and my little boy who gets into things he shouldn't, it's been a challenge. Lately, everytime I turn my back, my son Aaron finds rocks to put in his mouth. You can usually tell when he has rocks in his mouth because of the look on his face and the ring of dirt around his mouth. And he won't quit. You take them out, tell him no, and turn your back again, and what does he do? More rocks.

Again, back to the garden. So today, my mom was here to dig up some ferns, and she got in the garden. And let's just say, it looks a whole lot better. Thanks mom! I'm hoping we'll actually get some vegetables out of this whole experience. If nothing else, my other son Jamin, is waiting for "his" vegetables to grow. I think it's great for him to see how things grow. I must say though, it would be a whole lot easier to just go to the grocery store and buy some. It's a lot of work. But who knows, maybe, just maybe, I'll do it again next year.

The Bathroom

This is the bathroom in our new house. It's the one room on the main floor left to renovate, and the one room I hate. It's not only ugly, but elements of it are falling apart. Did I mention that it's ugly?

That hurts

My son Jamin learned a hard lesson this morning. I had already made him his breakfast, which consisted of a bowl of oatmeal, when he decided he wanted an egg too. So, I made him an egg. I moved the pan off the element when I was finished and proceeded to go and cut up his egg for him. He hopped off his chair and before I could say or do anything, he reached up and put his hand on the still hot element.

As I was tending to his burned hand in the bathroom, he told me that he just wanted to see if the element was still hot. Maybe that's not the best way to find out. He did tell me afterwards that he wouldn't do it again. I felt really bad for him and I hate that they find out things this way. I guess it's part of growing up. I remember as a child touching a hot iron. Not a pleasant feeling.

He's doing much better now. He says it doesn't hurt anymore so I'm thankful for that. As a mother you really don't ever want to see your child hurting. We can only do so much to protect them though.

So for Jamin today, lesson learned.

The first one

The first entry. What to write.....

This is very new to me. I have been told that I need to start a blog. So, I finally got on board and here it is...

I always thought that I had nothing to write about, nothing that anyone would actually want to read. But the more I got reading other blogs, I realized that just everyday happenings can be very interesting, and leave you wanting to read more. So, last night at about 6:30pm, I decided it was time.

I'm going to keep this short, as I'm finding I already have writers block. So sad. But, if you choose to come back and read some more, I will try my best to keep you updated.
